Kevin Nguyen, known as kng (pronounced k•n•g), is a Vietnamese-American DJ, producer, and music artist based in Grand Rapids, MI. Blending a spectrum of styles from Trap, 140, Dubstep, Club, Garage, Future Bass, and House —kng brings a bold, genre-fluid energy that resonates with diverse crowds across Michigan’s music circuit.

kng has performed across michigan at places such as The Intersection, The Crofoot, Elektricity, Breakaway Music Festival, and Grand Rapids Asian Pacific Festival, where he’s opened for artists like Sullivan King, Adventure Club, NURKO, and Midnight Tyrannosaurus. His energetic sets balance high-impact drops with melodic characters, turning every performance into an immersive, emotionally-charged experience.

His music has landed on tastemaker labels like Alter/Ego, founded by trap and bass innovator Hex Cougar, as well as EDM Sauce Records, The Subox Descendents, and Unbounded Limits.

kng’s momentum continued to build throughout 2025 including support for Club TSU by TSU NAMI, and for YDG on the You + Me Forever Tour. In 2026, he will be supporting AVELLO on his upcoming 2026 tour stop in Grand Rapids, marking another exciting step in his journey as an emerging artist in Michigan’s growing electronic scene.

Beyond his work in the EDM scene, kng has expanded into hip-hop, producing a track for The SEVENth’s recently released Skygod Part B EP—linking his work to Michigan’s AGO collective and artists including Sango, Savon, and Waldo.

The name kng stands for ‘know no grounds’: a mindset rooted in breaking boundaries, blending genres, and uniting scenes, sounds, and identities. It represents a commitment to creating music that feels both forward-thinking and grounded in the raw energy of the crowd.
